Tiila Abbitt created ĀTHR BEAUTY because she is highly passionate for the sustainable beauty realm. Years spent developing beauty products globally for Sephora taught Tiila that in the United States there are only 11 banned chemicals in color cosmetics, while in the European Union there are over 1,300. She learned how to formulate color cosmetics with a large chemical ban list and how to substitute for cleaner alternatives. Abbitt also found that clean beauty lacked, in comparison to conventional beauty, when it came to efficacy, formula innovation and trend.
