Vita-Botanical Mela-Fade Serum is a two-product system. Serums A and B together contain a combination of highly specialized, scientifically proven ingredients that assist in improving pigmentation’s appearance through the inhibition of melanogenesis mediators, tyrosinase and melanosome transfer.

Biobenefity™ is a very strong Inhibitor of NF-kB. NF-kB is a message that our cells produce when exposed to UV and other environmental free radials, which causes a build up of dead skin cells (where pigment builds up appearing darker and darker) and an over production of melanin (actually making pigment darker).
Inhibits bFGF (Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor) production significantly, which improves skin’s elasticity and pore size and reduces photoaging. When bFGF is over produced it causes a buildup of damaging dead skin cells and a loss of elasticity - this is often referred to as photoaging.
PRINCESS CARE™ (Geranium Robertianum (Herb Robert) Extract) an excellent tryptase inhibitor that not only helps to reverse the effects of photo-aging, but helps to decrease melanosome transfer.
When skin is exposed to UV it produces an enzyme called tryptase, which causes inflammation and cellular damage that results in over production of pigment and overall photo-aging. By inhibiting production of the tryptase enzyme, Princess Care™ has been proven to inhibit collagen degradation, improve skin elasticity, and provide a superior moisturizing effect. Its strong anti-histamine properties inhibit oxidative stress in the cells, providing age prevention action.
Fun fact - the product was named Princess Care based on the Japanese name for Geranium Robertianum, Himefkro, hime, meaning “princess.”
LACTIC ACID inhibits the over production of tyrosinase, an enzyme which causes pigmentation.
NIACINAMIDE (Vitamin B3) inhibits the transfer of melanin into the keratinocyte (skin cell), reduces inflammation, which causes pigment production, by improving the skin’s barrier function and stimulating ceramide production
PANTHENOL (Pro-Vitamin B5) an essential nutrient that promotes repair of the skin’s barrier function, is a humectant that helps skin cells retain water moisture and is anti-inflammatory.
This is helpful in improving pigmentation because it is more likely that UV will be absorbed into poorly hydrated skin with a damaged barrier. Any inflammatory response in the skin naturally leads to a production of pigmentation, so the anti-inflammatory properties of panthenol may help reduce pigmentation.
ALPINIA WHITE aides skin cells in their defense against pigmentation by promoting recovery from from UV B exposure. Keeps fibroblasts healthy, which allows for a strong production of collagen.
CLAIRJU™ (Hydrolyzed Prunus Domestica (Plum) inhibits the transfer of melanin into the keratinocyte (skin cell), improves skin hydration and texture.
NEEM LEAF LIQUID B and SAKURA EXTRACT B help to prevent inflammation through anti-histamine properties. The release of histamine, as a reaction to UV exposure, causes inflammation in the cell that leads to an over production of pigmentation. These ingredients also inhibit prostaglandin production, stimulated from UV B (sunburn), which leads to freckles and melasma.
Improves transepidermal water loss in skin cells, better hydrated cells absorb less UV and damaging free radicals.
HONEYBUSH CWS EXTRACT an antioxidant that reduces damage to collagen fibers from UV B exposure, lessening the amount and depth of wrinkles.

Note: lactic acid in this formulation is used to inhibit the production of pigmentation, and not as an exfoliant, and will not make skin more sensitive to sun exposure.
Cleanse, or splash with water if not using a cleanser, and tone, if desired. For optimal pigmentation improvement, we recommend applying a thin layer of Multi-Bioactive Mela-Prep Lotion before applying Vita-Botanical Mela-Fade Serums. Apply both morning and night.
Mix 1 pump from each bottle of Serum A and Serum B in the palm of your hand and apply to face, neck, chest (also great for your hands). Apply morning and evening, followed by any desired serums, moisturizers or oils.
For the first two weeks of initial use apply only to the darkest pigmented areas of the skin morning and evening. This allows the heaviest pigment to get a “head start” on the lightening process.
